FARMINGVILLE, NY (May xx, 2016) – Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced that the agency has closed on a package of economic assistance for Penn Fabricators, which intends to construct a new industrial building in Medford to accommodate its growth.
Penn, a manufacturer of quartz kitchen countertops, plans to construct a 30,000-square foot building on 3.5 acres on Platinum Court in Medford. The company, which began business in 2,000 square feet in 1991, now occupies 22,500 square feet of leased space at 100 Bellport Avenue, Yaphank.
The company will receive a 10-year abatement of its property taxes, an abatement of the mortgage recording tax on its new building and an abatement of sales taxes paid on purchases of materials and equipment for the new facility. The closing took place May 18, 2016. The IDA board approved the incentive package at its April 20, 2016 meeting.
