FARMINGVILLE, NEW YORK (Jan. 16, 2018) – Frederick C. Braun, III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced that the IDA has approved a package of economic incentives for an expansion of the Bellport warehouse of Quality King Distributors Inc., Long Island’s largest private company, which intends to bring 40 new jobs from Florida.
The benefits package, which closed on Nov. 29 and was approved at the IDA’s Nov. 15 meeting, will assist the company, a distributor of pharmaceuticals and health and beauty aids, in refinancing the mortgage on its 560,000-square-foot distribution center — one of the largest of its kind on Long Island — at 35 Sawgrass Drive, Bellport.
The benefits also will allow the company to complete a $700,000 buildout of an unimproved third-floor at the facility, where it will move 40 jobs from a now-closed facility in Sunrise, Fla. that had been operated by its affiliate, Perfumania Holdings. The buildout includes new offices, computer facilities, a photo studio and a prototype company store.
