FARMINGVILLE, NY (Jan. 16, 2018) – Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced the agency has closed on a package of economic incentives for a company that plans to build a plant to supply advanced road marking materials in Shirley.
Regent Tek, a start-up business that is a certified Woman Owned Enterprise, plans to produce materials at the new plant using innovative thermoplastic formulas developed in Europe and specially formulated for northern climates. It plans to supply road-marking companies and transportation agencies north of Virginia and as far west as Illinois. The company had been operating from an office on Shelter Island.
The application by a Regent Tek real estate affiliate, Nicstenik LLC, was considered under the IDA’s adaptive re-use policy. The incentives package, approved at the IDA’s Sept. 20, 2017 meeting, closed on Nov. 30.
