FARMINGVILLE, NY (April 7, 2017) – Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced that the agency at its March 21, 2017 meeting, accepted an application from Great South Bay Distillery Inc., which plans to build a plant and tasting room in a vacant Patchogue auto repair shop.

The application, which will be considered under the IDA’s adaptive reuse program, is subject to IDA review, a public hearing and final approval.

The planned distillery, which will operate as The Bitter Man Distilling Co. plans to occupy a 6,000-square-foot building at 147 West Ave., Patchogue, and, once licensed, would produce vodka, gin and whiskey. The project is subject to approval by the Village of Patchogue. The cost of the project is estimated at approximately $1.6 million.
